-----

The event is open to women of all ages and skill levels, whether you’ve never touched a CDJ in your life or you’re simply trying to develop your techniques. This is an opportunity to ask questions, get hands on time with industry standard gear, and experiment with DJing in an environment free of judgment or shame. This event is to encourage and empower women who would like to DJ, give them a space to learn, and to help them connect with other women. In addition to building skills, the workshop will help facilitate building supportive relationships with other women in the electronic music community, work to promote the idea that women can pursue any musical endeavour they are interested in, and dismantle the archaic belief that the disproportionate amount of women in music is because “that’s just the way it is.” Come hang out, ask questions, make friends and start pursuing electronic music!

This event will be open to all women interested in learning DJing. Two CDJ 2000 Nexus setups will be provided (4 CDJs) w/ 2 mixers. You are encouraged though not required to bring a flashdrive of music (rekordbox playlists preferred, also not required.)

This event is free with RSVP and limited to 75 seats. 1 ticket per person. RSVP closes at 7/28 @ 11AM. Snacks and water will be provided (no full meals, please plan accordingly). Event will be held indoors, rain or shine.
